CR! Vlog's Thundercats 2011

  1. Actually, the Thundercats reboot actually started out with the King explaining that their Ancestors "The Thundercats" came to this world, defeated Mumm-Ra and tamed the beasts of the world and built their society.
So, apparently, this is Third Earth, and they just build the city/sanctuary naming it after Thundera, their home world.

  3. I found the first 15 min of episode 1 on youtube. I have issues with this for several reasons. Its a reboot but its supposed to be generations after the events of the original cartoon. Ok I think the last episode consisted of Planet New Thundara not exploding like the first one and the Thundercats stayed. This series goes on the premise that the planet did explode and the characters fled back to third earth only to crash and lose the book of omens which was just a collection of knowledge ala Matrix of Leadership. This new series then does a magic eraser for the old characters. Wouldn't the thundercats pass on stories of GRUIN THE DESTROYER!!!!!!!(pardon the scream but lets face it Cartoon Network must have gone out of their way to give the finger to old fans of the series) I am willing to suspend my disbelief that the old characters populated Third Earth and at this time new characters with the old names happen to exist. What I can't let go of is the painful lengths This series goes to rape the old series. The reptiles being the only race of planet plundar to survive, the tails on Wiley Kit and Kat, and the absence of the technology that got the cats to third earth and won the fights with Mum-Ra and the Mutants.

    Rant over

  4. Not bad for a first time Vlog, I'd love to see you bitch about more stuff like this ;)
But personally I found the show to be pretty interesting so far. its been a really really long time since I saw the original Thundercats so I have no idea how well its aged and I'm afraid to find out O_O but I do remember really enjoying a very similar reboot for He-man and I'm having high hopes for this reboot for pretty much the same reason. Also I agree on some of your points, I really like Kit and Kat so far, I really like Mumra, and actually I liked the wise man cat guy Jura and Snarf. I didn't have a problem with the original Snarf either, but I don't mind what they did with him here.

  5. I think making the separation between good and evil more ambiguous is kind of cool. The Cats and Lizards are different classes rather than good guys and bad guys. It's kind of like Avatar the Last Airbender, the fire nation was the "bad guy," but the average fire nation citizen is just a person. Actually speaking of which Snarf is more like Momo the Flying Lemur...

Tygra can't teleport, he has mental powers that allow him to cast illusions such as making himself invisible. I can understand you forgetting Jagga's name, but how could you not mention LYNXO!! The BLIND GUY! He was a character from the original cartoon but from later in the series and pretty obscure, the fact that he was in the very first episode made me jump!
